Change your Windows 7 Logon Screen Easily

The wallpaper presented to you at the logon screen in Windows 7 gets pretty boring quickly. Easy to change? Relatively. You can find some third party tools, or have a go yourself with the instructions below

Follow the procedure below to change the Windows 7 logon screen:

1. Download the registry file from here. and double-click on the file to enable this feature (Alternative method: right-click, select Merge).

2. Now, head over to the following folder:

C:\Windows\System32\oobe (“C” is your Windows Seven Installation drive)

3. Here, create a new folder named Info. Again, create a new folder inside the Info folder and rename it as backgrounds.

4. Copy your favorite image file to this folder and rename it as backgroundDefault. 

Note that the image must be in JPG format and the size should be less than 256 KB.

5. You are done. Reboot your system and see the change.

The following files (sorted by width-to-height ratio) are supported in C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Info\Backgrounds folder:

* background900×1440.jpg (0.625)

How to Snap your Login Screen in Windows 7

There are Many freeware’s and paid applications that lets you capture screenshots. But none of them let you grab screenshot of your Log-in screen
Windows 7 Login Camera is a nice freeware that lets you capture screenshots of Logon screen very easily.

Install the application, lock the screen by pressing CTRL + L and use ease of access button located on the bottom left side. Windows 7 Login Camera launches and allows you save the captured screen on desired location.

iPhone(iOS) - Style Lockscreen Screensaver On Your Windows

iPhoneLS is a new screensaver for Windows that simulates the iOS lock screen just the way you’d expect: after this screensaver is running, you’ll see a “slide to unlock” screen which brings you back to your desktop once your slide it to the right.

iPhoneLS requires .NET Framework 3.5 or higher, which is built into Windows 7. If you’re using any version of Windows prior to Windows 7, make sure you get .NET Framework 4.0 directly from Microsoft’s download website. Other than that requirement, this screensaver should be as easy to install as any other. 


How to install :

Step 1: download iPhoneLS from here. save the file in a safe location (if you delete the file after install, it won't work. so save in a permanent location)

Step 2: Right-click the iPhoneLS.scr that you downloaded and select “Install”.

Again, make sure you do not move this file or remove it after this point. If so, this screensaver will automatically be uninstalled.

Step 3: You should immediately see your Windows screensavers settings dialog, with iPhoneLS selected.

Step 4: Click on Settings to modify the Optional settings such as Arrow Speed, Opacity, Backround Picture.

Step 5: Once you modify the settings click Apply and OK

You’re done! From here on, whenever your computer enters an inactive state, you’ll have to drag your cursor along the “slide to unlock” slider in order to resume use.
